Help & FAQ

How can we help?

Answers to what bidders ask us most. Can’t find yours? The help desk is a call away.

Getting started

What is Min-elam?

A Tamil Nadu e-auction platform where repossessed vehicles, SARFAESI property and pledged gold go up for public auction. You browse, view, bid and pay in the Min-elam app.

How do I join an auction pool?

Open the pool and tap Register before entry closes. Every pool has a one-time platform fee of ₹100 when you register (UPI, card or net banking). Booking a viewing is free, so you can see a lot first and pay only when you decide to take part. You then get a bidder token for every lot in that pool.

Can I see a lot before I bid?

Yes. Book a viewing slot in the app for the yard, the property site or the branch, and show your ticket code when you arrive. Viewings are free.

Fees & EMD

Is the platform fee refunded if I don’t win?

No. The platform fee is a one-time, non-refundable charge for that pool, and it is not adjusted against the price. It is returned only if the pool is cancelled before bidding opens.

What is EMD and when do I get it back?

An earnest money deposit (10% of the reserve for property and gold) that you pay per lot before bidding where the sale asks for one. If you are outbid it is refunded in full; if you win, it counts toward the price. The runner-up’s EMD is held a little longer as a backup.

How long does a refund take?

Refunds go back to the account, card or UPI ID you paid from. Banks usually credit them within 5–7 working days. Follow each one under Profile → EMD Deposits & Refunds.

Bidding

How long is bidding open?

Vehicle pools run for 3 days, and every lot closes on its own clock. A bid in the last 5 minutes extends that lot by 5 minutes, so everyone can answer.

Can other bidders see who I am?

No. Bids are shown by token number only. Your name and phone stay private.

Will I know if I’m outbid?

Yes — the app sends a notification the moment someone beats your bid, and a reminder before each lot closes.

After you win

I won — what happens next?

You’ll see a winner screen with your token and the amount payable. Pay the balance to the seller within the time shown — 48 hours for vehicles — and collect it with the sale letter.

How is the vehicle’s RC transferred?

After the balance is paid, the seller processes the transfer through the Parivahan VAHAN portal. It normally takes up to 14 working days; the app tells you when it’s done.

How do I pay for a property I won?

25% of the winning bid within 24 hours and the balance within 15 days, to the seller. The seller then issues your sale certificate.

How do I collect gold I won?

Pay the balance to the seller within 72 hours, then collect at the branch with the release letter from the app.

Account & KYC

What documents do I need?

You sign in with your mobile number. Vehicle pools need Aadhaar verification, and property and gold sales need PAN — the app asks before you register.

My OTP isn’t arriving — what do I do?

Tap Resend after the timer ends. If it still doesn’t arrive, check the 10-digit number, or call the help desk and we’ll help you sign in.

Payments

A payment failed — was I charged?

If a payment fails, no amount is deducted for that attempt. Check Profile → Payments; only entries marked Paid were successful. If money left your account, your bank usually reverses it within 5–7 working days.

Which payment methods work?

UPI, debit and credit cards and net banking, through an RBI-regulated payment gateway.
